Love this program!

This year, The Rotary Foundation will award up to 170 fully funded fellowships through our Rotary Peace Centers at leading universities worldwide. These fellowships are designed to empower and equip the next generation of peacebuilders and connect them for collective action.🤝🏽

Through a blend of academic learning, practice, and global networking, participants gain the skills and knowledge needed to promote peace, prevent and transform conflict, and advance sustainable development in their communities and beyond.

What a great meeting at the Sacramento Police Canine Association training center at McClellan Park.

Our club has helped develop the center by providing lawn, trees, electrical, lighting, carports, lawn equipment, decomposed granite, fencing -- yep, a lot over more than 15 years!

We had a chance to spend time last week meeting the current K9 team, seeing a training demonstration and hearing all that the team does to protect our community.

Thank you to the Association for recognizing our work and collaboration over the years!

Book Buddies rock!!!

One of our club's service projects this past spring was to join 3rd graders with club members to read the same book, trade letters and finally...finally...meet each other at a pizza party.

How fun was this?? Tons of fun!!

We look forward to continue this incredible project that delights both students and Rotarians.

To all of our Rotarians and friends....Happy Memorial Weekend.

Let us never forget that freedom is never free.

Let us remember those who gave all to give us the opportunity to celebrate this 250th anniversary of our country.

It's always a special evening when our club holds its Foundation Dinner to recognize our members who are making a difference through supporting The Rotary Foundation, PolioPlus and American River Rotary Foundation.

Our guest speaker, Jayne Hulbert, shared the incredible impact of the Foundation both locally and across the globe.

We recognized a number of club members with some of those being President Allison Voigt Hamaker, Peggy Porter-Honeyman, Carroll Dudley, and George Abraham.

It's all about being People of Action providing Service Above Self.

In any Rotary year, our club works on and supports so many projects.

Effie Yeaw Nature Center (EYNC) in Carmichael is just one of those local community groups that our club is happy to support through hands-on work and donations to help the Center complete major projects.

Here's a letter we received from Rachel Cowan, Director, noting our club's support of a matching donation for the Center:

"As we celebrate 50 years of the Effie Yeaw Nature Center, we’re looking forward to expanding our animal ambassador program—and we need your help!

The Nature Center's animal ambassadors educate over 30,000 visitors each year. Effie Yeaw herself knew that seeing animals up close offers a nature connection unlike any other. These unique experiences open an understanding of our role in supporting local habitats as a whole to support raptors and other wildlife. With just a few minutes of observing snakes and birds up close, new stewards are energized.

Your support will make it possible to introduce new animal ambassadors and inspire new stewards. To make this happen we need to improve our enclosures and habitats, and expand care.

Planned projects include:
Upgrades to raptor resident spaces so we can adopt and care for birds of prey
Enhance turtle and snake enclosures
Improve animal care facilities
Provide new carriers for safe transport and veterinary care.

Now is the perfect time to make an impact. Thanks to generous donors Peggy & Bruce Kennedy, Rosemary Mayfield, and American River Rotary, all gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $30,000.

Together, we can create enriching environments for our ambassadors while inspiring curiosity, connection, and stewardship in everyone who visits the Nature Center.

Thank you for being part of our community and helping us to educate and inspire future generations for the next 50 years."

Our club is happy to be a part of making sure the Effie Yeaw Nature Center is able to provide their ongoing programs that have been such a big part of our local community for decades.

🚐 Big day for our community! Yesterday, the new Rotary Community Van made its public debut at the Fulton-El Camino Recreation & Park District's 70th Anniversary celebration at Howe Park — and what a wonderful occasion to show it off! 🎉

Tomorrow morning, we'll be handing the keys over to the Fulton-El Camino Park District, who will serve as the host agency for the van. We're so grateful for this incredible partnership!

This van is the result of a fantastic collaboration — the Rotary Clubs of , American River, and Point West joined forces through a Multi-Club District Grant to make this dream a reality. Together, we're stronger, and together, we're making a real difference right here in our community.

Stay tuned for photos from tomorrow's key handover ceremony! 🗝️✨
