ASG.Stream is a donor-supported streaming platform for films that celebrate human freedom. We also create surveys and quizzes that help people discover their political identity for educational purposes. We're most known for The World's Smallest Political Quiz, taken by over 20 million people worldwide. Our VISION

is:

A world of self-governing people living in a condition of happiness, harmony and prosperity. Those who advocate for self-government reject the initiation of force as a means of solving social problems. Instead, we promote a social and political philosophy that promises greater public safety, smarter regulation, and more compassionate welfare. That political philosophy replaces coercion with persuasion and violent state power with systems of free association. Everything we do is driven by our MISSION:

Living them is harder.

Virtue is built by practicing honesty, compassion, restraint, and responsibility until those habits become part of a person’s character. Political activism aimed at changing everyone else can become a substitute for doing that work.

That sounds like a big privacy win. But government agencies can still buy sensitive data from brokers, and lawmakers keep requiring companies to build massive databases of personal information.

The safest database may be the one that never exists.

The courts are narrowing the third-party doctrine, but mass data collection continues to fuel government surveillance. Real privacy begins with limiting the data that's collected in the first place.

Starting a school sounds like an education problem.

Then come the leases. Zoning. Insurance. Building codes. Employment law. Licensing. Multiple agencies that may not even agree on who has jurisdiction.

For education entrepreneurs, a great idea for helping children can get buried under rules that have very little to do with teaching them.

Education entrepreneurs are expanding learning options, but outdated regulations often stop innovative schools before they can open. Removing unnecessary barriers would give families more educational choices and encourage innovation.

Norway gets held up as proof that Americans could have a much bigger welfare state if only politicians taxed the rich a little more.

That leaves out a pretty important detail.

Norway’s system is funded heavily by ordinary workers through income taxes, payroll taxes, and consumption taxes reaching 25%. The benefits are real. So is the bill.

Norway's welfare state offers generous public benefits, but ordinary workers pay heavily through high taxes and reduced disposable income. The Nordic model's tradeoffs are often overlooked.

It’s easy to see what everyone else is doing wrong.

Adam Smith thought the harder—and more important—work was examining our own conduct.

A free society cannot run on rights alone. It also depends on people practicing self-command, dropping grievances, honoring basic rules of conduct, and doing the right thing even when nobody is making them.

Adam Smith argued that liberty survives through self-government, duty, and moral discipline. Freedom depends less on laws than on citizens willing to govern themselves before judging others.

Two brothers.

Two very different opinions about the "right" way to smoke barbecue.

One loves an offset smoker. The other prefers a pellet grill.

Instead of turning the disagreement into a political fight, the market lets each choose what works best. That simple example illustrates one of the greatest strengths of free societies: people don't have to agree to live peacefully together.

What can a family barbecue teach us about freedom? More than you might think. Markets let people with different preferences coexist peacefully instead of turning everyday choices into political battles.
