This afternoon, 18 student participants from the 5th cohort of College Corps are receiving their orientation to Alchemist Community Development Corporation.

We have had the privilege of working with College Corps students from University of California, Davis and California State University-Sacramento every year since the program began and this is our biggest class yet! College Corps has been a remarkable success, and the dedicated, consistent student volunteers have been essential as our programmatic impact has grown, especially in distributing CalFresh and Market Match at local farmers' markets. In the last two years, we have also hired several College Corps students to continue working with us over their summer breaks. This provides them with income and provides us with well-trained staff whom we already know and trust.

Joe Robustelli has exercised such thoughtful leadership in the Alchemist CDC relationship with College Corps students and staff that our organization has emerged as a highly trusted partner for our local universities.

We expect College Corps to continue as a permanent fixture here in California and look forward to seeing what these incredible young people do in the years to come!
