We have our 2026 Karen Evon Memorial Scholarship winner! 🤩
Meet Renee Alton.
"My name is Renee Alton and I am a birthworker and mother of seven. I have worked in lactation for 13 years and am grateful for the opportunity to expand my education in the field. I have facilitated support groups as a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor since 2014. I will use this scholarship to attend the Certified Lactation Counselor program at UC San Diego. This is my first step toward my ultimate goal of becoming an IBCLC."
Renee first came to a SacBFC meeting in 2025 where she shared her involvement in the lactation world. We were thrilled to have Renee apply for the Karen Evon Memorial Scholarship and are so happy to help her continue towards her goal of becoming an IBCLC. We're rooting for you, Renee!
