Join the Coalition for Victims of Child Abuse (CVCA) for an interactive virtual symposium led by Dr. Nicole Klasey, Psy.D., a nationally recognized trainer and consultant with extensive expertise in Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), trauma, harm reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and survivor-centered care.
Designed for therapists, clinicians, victim advocates, and child-serving professionals, this training provides practical, evidence-informed strategies to effectively engage and support commercially sexually exploited youth and young adults. Through real-world case examples, facilitated discussion, and interactive activities, participants will explore how trauma, shame, and readiness for change impact recovery and engagement.
Participants will learn to:
Understand the connection between exploitation, trauma, shame, and behavioral responses.
Recognize and respond to different stages of readiness for change.
Apply harm reduction principles and Motivational Interviewing techniques to build trust and strengthen engagement.
Implement practical, trauma-informed, and survivor-centered strategies that can be immediately applied in clinical and community-based settings.
