If you're looking for a playful, loving pup, keep reading to learn more about Nola Roux! 🩶
"Hi my name is Nola Roux! When you see me in my kennel, I might jump up on the kennel door…I’m just trying to say 'hi' and let you know how happy I am to meet you! Once I get outside and have had a chance to sniff around and get some energy out, you’ll see how great I am on walks. I like to check in with you and when I’m not exploring, I like to walk next to you. I love treats and will sit for some if you ask me to. The shelter says I'm part Catahoula so besides having the most interesting and beautiful coat, I am also very loyal and smart! Volunteers tell me I’m very friendly and sweet too! Here are some notes from a nice foster family I got to live with for a bit: 'She is completely potty trained, had no accidents while with a foster care provider, super playful and loves squeaky toys and tug of war, will happily play catch with herself and run around the backyard for hours. Very affectionate and just wants to be next to her people, walks great on a leash when there is no distractions and will happily greet any human she meets.' If I sound like your kind of dog, check out my videos in my profile linked below and then head to the shelter to meet me!"

Please remember that the shelter is a stressful environment, and that many animals come to Front Street as strays without any known history. While staff and volunteers do their best to learn about the animal, behavior in the shelter is not always the same as behavior in a home.
The best way to meet them is to visit the shelter at 2127 Front Street, which is open 7 days a week 12pm-5pm! (The shelter is closed for all federal & some state holidays - you can check the website for the most up to date information)
