At our 25th Annual Golf Tournament, we were honored to received the Hummingbird Award from George Mark Children’s House. To date, The Markie Foundation has donated $300,000 to George Mark, and we have been grateful to create meaningful relationships with the house! Our 25th moment is not one but many moments throughout the years. Our golf tournament event has continues to get better and better each year, and we could not do it without your support. We are excited to see you all tomorrow at Callippe Preserve Golf Course for our 25th annual golf tournament!

Did you know that The Markie Foundation has not one but two golf tournaments per year? The last two years, The Markie Foundation has been able to host a second event in the fall in Auburn, California, thanks to the generous support of Budd and Linda Wuelfing and EC Telecom. This event always includes fun games on the course, a lively crowd and a wonderful lunch where you can hear from Joe & Janis about The Markie Foundation and its mission. This year, the golf tournament will be held at Turkey Creek Golf Club on October 3rd. Be on the lookout for signups later this summer!

From 2007-2016, co-founders Janis and Joe Wuelfing served on the Board of Directors and Family Advisory Council for California Hospice and Pediatric Care Coalition (CHPCC) — another beneficiary of The Markie Foundation. In this role, Janis and Joe helped advocate for parents and families, provide input for care providers, and lobby for legislation to ensure terminally ill children and families receive the care they need.

We have been longtime supporters of UC Davis Health and their incredible work. The UC Davis Foundation supports pediatric hospice care through funding for compassionate, family-centered programs that help seriously ill children live with comfort and dignity. Their work ensures that families receive comprehensive medical, emotional, and spiritual support during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

This has been a meaningful organization to support, especially as friends from other parts of our lives have made this a full circle moment!
