What makes a city ready for Major League Baseball? âšľ

For Sacramento, the answer starts with the fundamentals: a top-20 media market, 4.1 million people within 50 miles, a 175-year baseball tradition and a track record of supporting professional sports.

In a recent Fox News Digital feature, Greater Sacramento Economic Council's President & CEO Barry Broome discussed why Sacramento is positioning itself as a serious contender for MLB expansion. The story highlights the region's growing visibility, strong fan support and the work underway to bring a permanent Major League Baseball franchise to Greater Sacramento.

As the expansion conversation continues, Sacramento is making a compelling case that this region belongs on Major League Baseball's shortlist. More at Fox News: https://fxn.ws/49QYZnK

Not too long ago, Sacramento was still one of California’s best-kept secrets. Now, the rest of the country is catching on. 🤩

Condé Nast Traveler named Sacramento one of the top places to visit in the U.S. for 2026, highlighting everything from Michelin-recognized restaurants and the Midtown Farmers Market Sacramento to the city’s growing sports, hospitality and entertainment scene.

The recognition comes as the region continues to invest in major projects like Sacramento International Airport's expansion, Hotel Eleanor and destination events that are drawing national attention.

What makes this moment special is that Sacramento’s rise still feels authentic. Rooted in agriculture, powered by local businesses and shaped by a community that genuinely loves where it lives.

Safe to say that Greater Sacramento’s moment is here: https://bit.ly/49x9TyR. 🙌

Another major investment in Greater Sacramento’s healthcare workforce 💡

Sutter Health is investing $2 million to expand Sierra College’s allied health programs—growing the pipeline for nurses, surgical techs, EMTs and other critical roles.

With healthcare projected to be California’s fastest-growing industry and tens of thousands of workers needed in the years ahead, partnerships like this are essential. By expanding training capacity and aligning education with real workforce needs, this investment is creating more pathways to high-quality careers while strengthening care across our region.

Sacramento’s MLB expansion campaign is officially underway ⚾🌉

Regional leaders and investors are making the case that Sacramento belongs in the big leagues, with a shovel-ready 50-acre site in City of West Sacramento, Government, nearly $2 billion in proposed public-private funding, and a vision for a new mixed-use district surrounding a future ballpark.

The Sacramento Pitch brings together business leaders, local governments and investors with one goal: making Sacramento impossible for MLB to ignore as the league eyes expansion by 2029.

As the largest U.S. market with only one permanent Big 5 professional team, Sacramento’s momentum, growth and baseball history are all part of the pitch.

“People have been sleeping on Sacramento.” Maybe not for much longer. 💪
