The Inner Wheel Club of East Sacramento, District 519 (EastSacIW) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community service club located in East Sacramento, California. EastSacIW currently supports charities that benefit women and children in Sacramento such as Wellspring, St. John’s Women’s Center, and Sierra Forever Families. All proceeds generated from EastSacIW’s annual BUNCO game night as well as donations from fundraisers like this fund its philanthropic activities. Club members vote on the activities of the club as well as which charities to support each year.

Lead by a National Governing Body, Inner Wheel clubs focus on friendship, personal service and international understanding. Their mission is to help and serve the underprivileged sections of society. Clubs choose their own charities to support and club service activities.

Inner Wheel District 519 Chair Rosemary Lamb attended our club's June meeting to help induct our 2022-23 officers. Rosemary wrote a beautiful speech using the colors of a rainbow as a metaphor for the diverse skillsets provided by each office.

"Pink is the color of universal love of oneself & others and represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, & approachability." The following 4 offices keep the Inner Wheel ideals of friendship and service at the forefront and are represented by the color pink:
Correspondence/ISO - Amy Chiuu
Foundation - Phyllis Christopher
Sunshine - Nancy Finton
Social Coodinator - Karen Ulep

"Orange is a vibrant color that signifies loyalty." The offices of delegates attend district meetings and report district activities back to their club:
Delegates - Wendy Thearle and Bonnie Silva

"Red represents energy and vitality and indicates one's willingness to give on oneself." The treasurer gives so much of herself in collecting monies, paying all approved bills, and keeping accurate financial records:
Treasurer - Joan Cotton

"Yellow is considered to be a bright and optimistic color and stands for thoughtfulness and mental concentration." This position requires taking an accurate account of the club's business:
Secretary - Jayme Forner

"Blue represents faith, loyalty, and inspiration. Darker blue also denotes intelligence, or depth, and responsibility." This office is relied upon by the club president and is hoped to inspire harmony among members:
Vice-President - Robin Slort

"Light blue is considered to have a calming effect." As immediate past-president this office provides historical perspective and guidance to the current president. This officer can relax and provide a peaceful calm to the members as she has "been there, done that":

"Purple represents leadership, greatness, and unselfish efforts." This highest office of the club is responsible for representing the club to the community, presiding over all meetings and dealing with internal club matters and potential crises:

Wellspring serves approximately 200 women and their children every weekday by providing healthy meals, case management, free counseling, art therapy, enrichment classes and workshops, and safety net services.

Inner Wheel Club of East Sacramento, District 519 donated enough biodegradable meal containers to help our center serve approximately 1,400 meals to women and children in our community. The supply of containers shown is enough to supply our Nutritious Meals Program for over 9 days! THANK YOU!
