Hey y'all hey,
I know it's been a long time since I've come to you from my business page, and from the lens of providing critical solution-dirven responses to the normalization of violence in community. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of hearing about the normalized dysfunction of gun violence and unresolved issues that keep conflict going. A part of me is missing home and putting my heart into creating safe spaces for solutions to flourish, and the tired part of me is content here in the country detached from the greater "community" because I ain't from here and I get to choose with intentionality what I put my energy into. However, what I am witnessing from afar, back at home in Northern California, is making me sick to my stomach....hearing about another young person murdered, hurt, traumatized by another young person. And I say that knowing gun violence, and a diminished value on life is not endemic to Sacramento or California, as it is happening all over this country. This is a humanity problem and there needs to be enough folks pushing back on this narrative normalizing this behavior that there's nothing we can do about it....because we can, and I am here to offer hope from an action-oriented, solution-drive, trauma-informed, harm-reducing, and humanity-centered. But it's going to take a lot more of us to stand with our full chest, bold and loud articulation, and 10 toes down, committed to shifting the trajectory of where our future lies.
