Newsom Claims California Has Less Homeless People, Still Can’t Say How $24 Billion Helped

via So Cal Times

Governor Newsom touts a 9% drop in homelessness in California, which has the highest rate in the nation under his leadership. After 5 years and $24 billion spent, Newsom admits he hasn’t even improved the crisis by 10%.

An independent audit by the State Auditor found California spent $24 billion to fight homelessness over the past five years, but didn’t consistently track and can’t say whether the public money actually improved the situation.

California still has an estimated 171,000 homeless transients, which is 30% of all homeless in the entire United States.

What do you think happened to the $24 billion and 9% less homeless people?

Weep with those who weep

Friends… the saga continues.
Seven pieces of furniture have fallen into chaos: A 9 drawer dresser with a hutch. A skinny glass front cabinet. A chopping block. A medicine chest frozen in Carbonite. An armoire whose drawers have crashed and desperately need a Spielberg style glide line rebuild.
Mama Bear — client advocate and protector of a 501c3 ministry serving those cast aside by the galaxy — sends out a call:
“Help me, DIY Hero… you’re my only hope.”
Your heroic tasks: • Sand • Paint (pink, blue, white, gold) • Stain • Repair • Cut a plywood sink top • Restore balance to the furniture universe
All materials provided (and maybe some tools). Bring your droids, your skills, your YouTube inspired courage, and the wisdom to know it won’t take 10 minutes.
Beginners welcome. Seasoned DIY jedis adored. Professionals may donate their labor for a tax deduction. Yes, sugar, the IRS approves.
Payment or donation — both paths may lead to glory when the Almighty Force is with you who answer.
