This measure requires a 2/3 vote to pass.

This is a cautionary tale for all of us.  Government has found a loophole to increase our taxes, with fewer votes.  The city council of Folsom, in Sacramento County found a way to increase taxes with 50% of the vote

CA Supreme Court yesterday heard oral arguments on Legislature and Governor attempt to block the Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act. (TPA) from the November 2024 ballot. Sac Tax is hopeful in a victory for taxpayers.
