Thank you to the Office of the Foster Care Ombudsperson for hosting an engaging and informative Resource Fair on May 16th at the Capitol Steps. 🏛️ In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the Foster Youth Bill of Rights, the event brought together local and statewide organizations to connect children and youth in foster care, former foster youth, foster families, foster care professionals, and community members with valuable resources and support services. 🤝✨

This proclamation recognizes the strength of children and youth in foster care, the dedication of foster families and caregivers, and the impact of programs and services that help young people thrive.

Over the last five years, California has seen a 32% decrease in the number of youth in foster care — a reflection of continued efforts to strengthen families, provide support, and create brighter futures for children and youth across the state.
