Lawyers vs Hunger

Lawyers vs Hunger Lawyers vs. Hunger started in 2014 with two food banks and one law firm and provided over 12,000 meals to folks in need. Visit the Lawyers vs.

Hunger is an annual campaign founded in 2014 by the founding partners of Medina McKelvey LLP in Roseville, CA seeking to partner with other legal professionals and the general public to provide meals to individuals and families in need. Since then the challenge has grown to include multiple law firms and six food agencies and provided 326,970 meals in 2020. For 2021, we have 19 law firms and other sponsors, seven food agencies, and our goal is to provide over 500,000 meals. This year, 19 different law firms and other sponsors across Northern CA and the Bay invite you to join them in the fight against hunger. They have already pledged donations through the campaign, and will match up to $62,200! Your gift of any size provides a nutritious mix of fresh produce, protein and pantry items so that local families can enjoy delicious, comforting meals together. Every $1 helps provide enough food for 2 meals, and through Lawyers vs. Hunger's matching system, those numbers are DOUBLED! This Tuesday, September 29, is Hunger Action Day!

If you haven’t already gotten involved in the fight against hunger, this is your chance. Here are some steps you can take:

💰 We invite you to DONATE to your local food agency, and if they happen to be one of our partnering food agencies through the Lawyers vs. Hunger campaign, then your donation will be double-matched.
🤝 You can VOLUNTEER at your local food agency. Reach out to them to see how you can tangibly help them serve the community. This can even be something you do with family, friends, or coworkers.
🧡 Last but not least, WEAR ORANGE! Orange is the official color of hunger relief, and wearing it is a simple, visible way to show that no one in our community should have to go without a meal.

And throughout all these things, you can also spread the word and raise awareness. Let others know that September is and that Tuesday the 29th is . Together, we can make a difference in our communities! Let us know in the comments how you plan to get involved or already have 👇

🍁September marks Hunger Action Month, and at Lawyers vs Hunger, we’re using it as a call to action! Will you answer the call? ☎️👀

Food insecurity affects millions of people in our communities, and everyone has a role to play in addressing it. Here are three ways you can get involved this month:
1️⃣Raise awareness: Start conversations about hunger in your workplace, network, and community. Awareness is often the first step toward change.
2️⃣Volunteer at a local food agency: Hands-on support at food agencies makes a direct, immediate impact.
3️⃣Donate through Lawyers vs. Hunger: Every donation you give through LvH to one of our partnering food agencies gets double-matched—making every $1 provide three meals for families and individuals in need.
Whether you’re part of the legal community or simply someone who cares about making a difterence, we invite you to join us this September. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.🩵🧡
