This Holiday Challenge started as a personal commitment — and became something much bigger.
I’m not a lifelong athlete. I didn’t row growing up. I’m just a regular guy who found motivation through purpose.
I rowed my first 500,000+ meters inspired by the memory of my mother and now I’m rowing to support the incredible people behind Racing Al — a story that reminds us we can all do a little more.
I’ll be sharing daily updates in the comments as we head toward Christmas.

This holiday season, I set a personal goal to row 500,000 meters to help raise awareness and $15,000 for families affected by Alzheimer’s.
I’m now closing in on the rowing goal — but the real work goes beyond the meters. Alzheimer’s impacts millions of families, and meaningful progress depends on awareness, community, and support.
Through Oars of Hope, we’re working to combine fitness, purpose, and community to help make a difference — and we still have a long way to go to reach our fundraising goal.

🎉 Congratulations, Maine ALZ! 💜

A huge shout-out to Drew Wyman, Bree Berthiaume and the incredible Alzheimer’s Association Maine Chapter team for leading another amazing Portland Walk to End Alzheimer’s — reaching 110% of your fundraising goal!

Over 700 participants came together, raising more than $220,000 to advance care, support, and research. 🙌

We’re truly honored to have been a sponsor and to join so many passionate walkers, volunteers, and advocates who are helping bring us closer to a world where Alzheimer’s is extinct ;-)

💜 Thank You for Joining Us at the York Walk to End Alzheimer’s!

A big thank you to all the Walkers who make this event possible, and everyone who joined us at the event- especially Tracey Collins, Scott Hardy, and Koenraad Kolhman! You are all truly an inspiration!

We’re proud to support our local Maine chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, and we’ll also be helping to raise funds for the Racing Al documentary at the Portland Walk- Saturday October 18th!

We're kicking off the final phase of our Fall "FUN"draising season on the 18th of October alongside the Maine Alzheimer's Chapter at the Maine ALZ Walk in Portland.

I'll be rowing, paddling and cycling 350,000 meters through the month of October to try and raise $15,000 for the Maine Alzheimer's Chapter.

We've also added a donation category to raise funds to support the production of "Racing Al"

We celebrated World Alzheimer’s Day at , who graciously hosted a homecoming reception for an epic coast-to-coast bike ride made by Koenraad Kohlman in support of his close friend, Tracey Collins...a journey that proves passion fuels purpose.
