So very proud of our herd and all the accomplishments we have achieved over the years and all the great things and people we have contributed to. Especially when we started with nothing and have worked so hard to achieve what we have this far.
Thank you all who have helped make all this possible!

Sabina Moose Riders – June Meeting Notes

Board Appointments

We would like to officially introduce and welcome our newly appointed board members:
Nick Bosier – Sergeant-at-Arms
Joe Bosier – Road Captain
Thank you both for stepping up and serving our herd.
We appreciate your willingness to help lead and support Sabina Moose Riders.

State Riders Meeting Recap

Our State Riders Meeting was a huge success.
We made over $700 from the event.
Thank you to everyone who helped with setup and tear down.
Special thanks to everyone who brought food. We heard nothing but compliments throughout the day.
We appreciate everyone who helped make the meeting a success.

Scholarship Program

Thank you to everyone who helped with the scholarship program and attended the scholarship presentation.
We proudly presented Peyton Lilly with a $1,244 scholarship.
Special thanks to Tammy for the idea of adding the extra $44 to match our Herd number, 1244.
We also paid a graduating senior’s outstanding school fees so he could participate in graduation and walk with his class.
We have a scholarship sponsorship letter and flyer available.
If anyone is willing to visit Clinton County businesses seeking monetary donations and sponsorships, please let us know.
Our goal is to expand the scholarship program and help more students in the future.

Larry Runyon Way Sign

The school has approved the installation of the Larry Runyon Way sign.
OUPS has completed the utility locate request.
We are working with Warren to coordinate a date that works for Larry. Thank you to Joe and Sabrina for purchasing the sign.
The sign will be installed and covered until Larry arrives for the unveiling.
Once a date is finalized, a public invitation will be posted.
Tentatively, we are discussing holding the dedication ceremony on July 2 prior to the Village’s Fourth of July Parade.
Tentative unveiling time would be 5:30 p.m.
If schedules allow, Larry will be invited to participate in the parade following the unveiling ceremony.
We are exploring having Larry ride through the parade in one of the vehicles so he can be recognized by the community.
Also, council member Peggy Sloan contacted Keith about getting a bunch of bikes to join the parade.

Emergency Contact Forms

A suggestion brought back from the State Riders Meeting.
Emergency Contact Forms are available tonight.
Members are encouraged to complete them so emergency contacts are available in the event of an accident or medical emergency.
Information will remain confidential.

$500 Gift Card Raffle

Please continue pushing sales for the $500 Gift Card Raffle.
Tickets are $10 each.
This fundraiser helps support scholarships, community projects, and Riders events.

Bike Night Recap

Our June Bike Night was a success with 22 bikes in attendance.
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the event.

Food Truck Update

The food truck at our June Bike Night was a huge success and sold out.
The food truck donated 10% of sales, resulting in a $75 donation to the Riders.
Utilizing food trucks greatly reduced the workload on our members and allowed everyone to enjoy the event more.
We will continue utilizing food trucks when possible.

Entertainment Discussion

Due to the extreme heat during recent Bike Nights, discussion is needed regarding moving entertainment indoors during July and August events.
Many attendees stayed inside in the air conditioning while entertainment remained outside.
Looking for member feedback on whether moving entertainment indoors would improve attendance and interaction with performers.
The goal is to ensure both our guests and entertainers have the best possible experience.

Bike Parking Discussion

Closing the alley for bike parking seemed to work well.
It eliminated the need to rope off the parking lot and haul out barricades and concrete bases.
Discussion:
Did members like having all bikes parked together?
Did it improve event flow?
Does it make setup easier?
Does it hide the bikes too much from public view?
Should we continue using the alley for bike parking?

Honorary Moose Riders

Thanks to Cathy Massey for the suggestion to recognize Jeff and Linda Runk as Honorary Moose Riders.
They were presented with Honorary Rider cards and Moose Rider shirts during Bike Night.
Jeff and Linda were truly humbled and appreciative of the recognition.
We thank them for their continued support of Herd #1244.

Supporting Fellow Riders

Chillicothe Blessing of the Bikes

Chillicothe’s first Bike Night is also their Blessing of the Bikes next Sunday.
They supported our Bike Night and we encourage members to return the favor and attend.

American Legion Bike Nights

American Legion Bike Nights are held on the last Wednesday of every month.
Scott, their president, has attended both of our Bike Nights.
Please support them when possible.

Smitty’s Bike Nights

Don’t forget Smitty’s Bike Nights every Friday night.
Please support them when you can.
Supporting other organizations and events helps strengthen our riding community.

Upcoming Poker Runs

June 20 – Brett Wightman Memorial Ride
July 11 – Mike Mallow Memorial Ride
July 18 – Butterfly Bash
August 1 – Patty Bills Ride
September 12 – Sabina Moose Riders Scholarship Ride

Scholarship Ride

We need to continue promoting our September 12 Scholarship Ride.
Our goal is to raise as much money as possible to continue growing our scholarship program and funding future scholarships.
Members are encouraged to help spread the word, recruit riders, and seek sponsorships whenever possible.

Looking Ahead

After our August Bike Night and September Scholarship Ride, we plan to slow things down somewhat.
Several members have been working extremely hard and are beginning to experience burnout.
We would love to see more Riders volunteer and help with:
Events
Fundraisers
Setup and teardown
Planning activities
The more members involved, the easier it is for everyone to enjoy our events.

Other business

Terry is interested in doing just a fun ride to the Ribber and fairy boat if we can get a date together.

If you do not have your riders cards, see Terry.

Mark Pauley has gotten ticket donations for the Dayton Dragons and Cincinnati Reds so we need to decide how we want to proceed with those for raffles.

Don’t forget that there is another voting tomorrow from 3-6pm for trustee and chaplain of the lodge from 3-6pm.
