BeArded WARRIORs

BeArded WARRIORs Bearded Warriors provides resources and opportunities of service within the community through volunteerism. Everyone has a story. What is yours?

BeArded WARRIORs is for active duty service members, veterans and their family members. BeArded WARRIORs bring veterans together to help those dealing with PTSD, addiction, depression, or any other injury or disease when returning home from deployment or leaving military service. Opening up and talking about combat or stressors can be a struggle. BeArded WARRIORs is a way of giving a line to reach out to get help.

He doesn't need to be fixed. He needs to be found.

Behind the jokes.
Behind the "I'm good, man."
Behind the reliable guy who never misses work and never complains.

Someone asking "No really—how are you?" might be the first time he's been seen in months.

June is Men's Mental Health Month. So let's actually talk.

Because nobody can hold it together for that long and then just turn into somebody who knows how to ask for help. That's you still being the guy who carries it all when nobody's watching anymore.

It's hard. It's way harder than anything they saw you do while you were out there grinding.
And here's the thing—we don't talk about it. Not "nobody talks about it." We don't talk about it. Men. The guys who were taught that the work matters more than the man doing it. That you're only as useful as your last good day. That if you're not providing, protecting, producing—you don't have a right to complain about the damage.

So let me tell you something nobody ever fu***ng talks about.

Nobody talks about the depression that comes when the noise stops. When you're walking around going, yo, there's no mission. Nobody gives a f**k what I'm doing. There is no structure. There is no whatever.

Nobody talks about what it's like when your body screams from years of work that took everything and gave you just enough to survive, and your brain is still scanning for threats because you never learned how to feel safe.

Nobody talks about the shame of being the rock everybody leans on while you're crumbling underneath.

That's the s**t nobody talks about.

This week, we say a bittersweet goodbye to Sarah. 🤍

She's been such a bright light at FLOAT. Always welcoming, warm, and genuinely caring toward every single guest who has walked through our doors. We are so lucky she chose to be part of FLOAT.

Sarah, we have loved watching you shine here and we are cheering you on as you head off on your next adventure out of state!

Stop by this week and show her some love before she goes.

June is Men's Mental Health Month.

To the man whose first instinct is to handle everything himself—because something inside him still believes he's the only one who can...

To the man who doesn't ask for help. Not from arrogance, but because he learned young that asking rarely changed anything.

To the man who looks calm in chaos. People think he's naturally composed. They don't see the boy who learned that panic never brought anyone running.

To the man who struggles to trust that someone will actually show up when it gets real. Because part of him is still standing in that old place, expecting to be alone.

To the man who keeps the heavy stuff locked in his own head. Surface conversation is easy. The real weight? That rarely leaves his mind.

To the man who steps up and carries responsibility without being asked. Not because he wants control, but because he's used to being the one who handles it.

To the man who feels strange being taken care of. Appreciated, yes—but unfamiliar. He's been his own safety net for so long.

To the man whose independence looks like strength from the outside. What they don't see is the boy who built that armor because no one was coming to save him.

Self-reliance is remarkable. But you don't have to be remarkable alone.

He might be carrying more than you know.

Starting to lay the groundwork and logistics for the mobile unit. We are MORE THAN EXCITED to get this project started.

We have spoken with our friends and reps at Mozaic Smart Technology Design and received some great information for a few good, better, best solutions. Extremely excited for what's to come and their support (again- as we were previous benefactors of their annual Boos, Blues and Brews fundraiser).

We are looking for the celery [vessel] to the ranch [means]. Our founder has put his beard up on the literal chopping block. Now, ALL of the donations raised through the yearlong 2026 Beard Off FundRAZOR will be what funds this mobile unit. We are looking at options for a 8.5x16 enclosed trailer.

For those seeing this as their first ever or 1000th post from us, Bearded Warriors is an all volunteer org. $0.99 of every $1.00 goes directly to our efforts, events we are partnered with, and assisting local veterans and their families. Know that we keep your local dollars just the same; local.

Where we have expanded our outreach to be community wide from homeless initiatives, item drives for underprivileged children in North Alabama to hurricane/ tornado disaster relief to service project events with organizations such as The Home Depot, Home Depot Foundation and various programs with Merrimack Hall everyone, thing and effort is driven by reaching our most at risk veterans.
