Biscotti is a spayed female tortoiseshell mama, born on January 1, 2025. She gave birth in captivity. She came to us terrified and protective of her newborn kittens. She is a terrific mom and just learning to trust humans. A pregnant, single mom, she found her way to a colony and was trapped before giving birth. Eight weeks ago, she greeted her fosters with hisses and flattened ears, very scared and completely unsure of what was happening. Today she will wander around our feet and greet us with anticipation. She will slow blink at us, which warms the heart. She is learning to trust! We are working on handling her. She will take time and patience but there was no way we could not try to have her adopted to the right person rather than releasing (TNR) her back to the colony after she's been inside for over 2 months. She will need a special person. A no children household. One dedicated to making her life the best it can be. She needs to learn how to be a cat. She has never tried to escape her "cat room", she is NOT destructive and she is content to be an inside only cat. She is very quiet. She is litter box trained. We don't think she has ever had the opportunity to play since she's probably spent the majority of her life in survival mode. And since being inside she has focused on being a good mother. We were always able to handle her kittens in front of her and we always talk to her with a soft, comforting tone. She is a beautiful cat and small at about 7 lbs. She has been spayed and had one series of vaccines. If you have time and patience, please consider adopting this magnificent girl. Indoor cat only!
