Harvest Outreach Center spent the day in Richmond, yesterday, alongside fellow providers through the Virginia Association of Community-Based Providers (VACBP) — advocating for the students, families, and communities we serve every single day.

We are committed to making sure the voices of our clients are represented in conversations that shape behavioral health services across Virginia. Access to care matters. Continuity matters. Stability matters.

We’re proud to stand alongside other providers who believe that thoughtful collaboration and strong community partnerships are essential to protecting and strengthening services for those who rely on them.

Now Hiring: Director of Education – Beacon Academy (2026–2027 School Year)
Beacon Academy, a private day school serving students with disabilities in grades K–12, is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Education to lead our academic programming and support our dedicated staff and students.
This is a senior leadership role for an individual who believes deeply in high-quality special education, strong collaboration with school divisions, and creating safe, supportive environments where students can grow academically, emotionally, and behaviorally.

We are so grateful to have taken part in the LCS Student Job Fair last week. Heritage & E.C. Glass high schoolers explored internship and employment opportunities, while networking with over 50 businesses! It was amazing to see these aspiring young minds practicing and preparing to enter the workforce.

Our Director of Programs, Maria Wood, and Clinical Director, Michelle Hamilton, had the honor of presenting at the 12th Annual Southeastern School Behavioral Health Conference in South Carolina!

They joined an incredible panel of leaders to discuss “Strengthening Schools Through Public-Private Partnerships: Advancing Equitable Access to Tiered Mental Health Services.”

Their session focused on how schools and community-based providers can collaborate to build sustainable, data-driven mental health systems while emphasizing accountability, conflict resolution, and funding strategies that prioritize both student outcomes and staff stability.
