The Yell County Historical Society will meet at the Methodist Church Activity Center in Dardanelle at 119 Locust Street. We meet the 3rd Monday night of each month. Everyone is invited to attend.

This month, we are pleased to gather at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), located at 224 S. Independence Ave in Russellville.

Featured Speaker & Topic:
We are honored to welcome our featured speaker, Rita Richardson—a current and valuable member of the Pope County Historical Association, as well as a local minister, musician, and community leader.
Her presentation is entitled: “Up and Down the Dial: The Journey of an Arkansas Journalist.”
About the Speaker:
Rita Richardson began her broadcasting career at KARV in Russellville in October 1974 while attending Arkansas Tech University, starting as a night-time announcer. After graduating from Tech in 1976, she spent decades covering news as a reporter and news director at radio stations in Russellville, Clarksville, Dardanelle, Conway, and Little Rock. Today, she continues to provide local news and weather for Mobile News, an online platform she founded in 2018.
