Russellville AR 2024 NASA Total Eclipse

Folks, this month I received official word from NASA that confirmed that the astronauts will NOT be coming to Russellville. When I submitted a request in February 2023, we were the first to request an astronaut visit for the weekend of the eclipse. Throughout the year, I checked every month and was assured we would receive top consideration. The Russellville mayor and leadership were excited and so they started contacting other NASA personnel - such as the engineers - in the summer. I had two phone conversations last month (January 2024) with the visitation program organizers. Basically, they were shocked at how much NASA involvement was already going to be concentrated in our "small" town and said we were already using so much NASA resources - which isn't a bad thing. I know, the astronauts would have been awesome. Anyway, check out the other things the city has planned. Be safe and have fun!
