The 2023 season of the Redbird Rookies has come to an exciting close at Fox Park :( With determination, sportsmanship, and plenty of teamwork, our young athletes showcased their skills and passion for the game of baseball.

As we reflect on this season, we also look forward to the future! The Redbird Rookies program remains committed to nurturing young athletes, teaching life skills, and fostering a love for baseball that goes beyond the field.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this season memorable, from the players and coaches to the families and volunteers. Your dedication and support are invaluable to the Redbird Rookies community and SouthSide Rec!

🌱🍉 Exploring the World of Juices and Smoothies at Garden Camp! 🍓🍍

Some of our young gardeners got to visit the amazing Grand Rising Smoothie & Juice Bar! Owner and Operator Stan shared his exciting journey of traveling and discovering unique flavors to incorporate into his business. 🌎✈️ He inspired our campers by highlighting the traits that make a successful business owner: passion, creativity, and the courage to explore new possibilities!

🍓🍍 The best part was the juice-making demo! Our young juice enthusiasts got to try different fruits and flavors, blending their own delicious concoctions! We're thrilled to announce that two of their creations, "Melon Mist" and "Watermelon Wake Up," will be featured on the menu! 🍉🍈 So, you can now taste the brilliance of our campers whenever you visit the Grand Rising Juice Bar!

Stan's tales of his global escapades fueled the campers' curiosity, and they tried out the unique flavors inspired by his travels! We're immensely grateful to Stan and the Grand Rising Juice Bar team for the warm hospitality and the valuable lessons shared. 🙏🤝

We had a time!!! 🎉 Seeing all the talented young players out on the field, eager to learn and grow their rugby skills, fills our hearts with joy. We wanted to take a moment to thank each and every participant, their supportive parents, and Rug the Lou's amazing coaching staff for making this clinic a roaring success! 👏

Our rugby clinics are more than just drills and exercises; they are a place where young athletes come together to forge friendships, build confidence, and develop essential teamwork skills. 🤝 With Rug the Lou's experienced coaches and a fun, inclusive environment, kids get the chance to improve their game while having a blast! 📣 Just a reminder! SouthSide Rec and Rug the Lou are excited to host TOUCH RUGBY SKILLS CLINICS at Fox Park TOMORROW, July 18, 2023, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. 🏉🌟

These clinics are open to ages 6-13, and players will be grouped based on their age for tailored coaching. Don't worry about contact - these clinics will be no contact, so no need to fear getting run over! 😄✋

No matter your skill level, these clinics are designed for everyone. Whether you're new to rugby or a seasoned player, join us for a fun and inclusive experience. 🌿🐓🌱 Field Trip Fun at Fox Park Farm! 🌿🐓🌱

Yesterday, our garden camp participants embarked on an exciting adventure to Fox Park Farm! 🎉🚜

Our amazing guides Phyllis, Cathy, and Elaine (Special shout out to them!!) helped our campers to immerse themselves in the world of sustainable farming and connect with nature. They explored the oldest garden in the area, tasted some amazing fresh fruits and veggies, and got their hands dirty weeding. 🌾🌿

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the incredible volunteers at Fox Park Farm for providing our campers with such an enriching environment to learn in. We are grateful for their dedication and knowledge. 🙏❤️

We had an amazing time at Garden Camp's What's Cooking with Chef Jess! 🎉🥬🍅

In this session, our talented young chefs donned their aprons and put their culinary skills to the test as they created mouthwatering Southwest Chicken Wraps! 🌯🍗🌽 The aroma of sizzling chicken, vibrant vegetables, and aromatic spices filled the air, and the results were absolutely delicious! 😋👌

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Chef Jess for sharing her culinary expertise and inspiring our young chefs to explore the world of cooking. 🙌🍽️

From planting seeds to learning about fascinating insects, our campers are immersing themselves in the wonders of nature. 🌿🐜 They're getting their hands dirty, cultivating friendships, and nurturing their curiosity every step of the way. 🌱🌸
