Greater Rusk Area Garden Club

Greater Rusk Area Garden Club The Greater Rusk Area Garden Club began as the Rusk Garden Club in April 1942. Anyone interested in gardening and nature is welcome.

Meetings are held at 2pm, on the 4th Wednesday of the month, September through May, at the Singletary Library in Rusk.

Mother's Day Plants!! Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 9th. Good Samaritan Plant Sale is the day before Mother's Day. Garden Club member Debbie Palmer has been busy for months growing plants in her greenhouse to donate to the sale. The sale will be held at Katie's gas and convenience store parking lot, on Hwy 69 in Rusk. These photos show some of the plants that will be available, and Debbie says there will be more plants and photos coming. By May, these young plants will be full and overflowing.
Plants currently include:
*Ice Plant
*Purple Heart
*Aloe Vera
* Spider Plants
*Wandering Jew
*Basket Plant
*Mother of Thousands

Garden Club member Debbbie Palmer lost her huge 54 year old Live Oak in the recent freezing ice storm. One half split and broke off and because of the damage, the whole tree had to be taken down. It was an important part of Debbie's landscape and will be missed.
