This article is so misleading it's frightening. How do they know there's no migration to residential wells if they're not testing those wells for 1,4 dioxane? The NJDEP's statement that "There is no exposure to any public or private drinking water well anywhere near the site" is BS since they haven't tested offsite or down gradient for 1.4 dioxane! The comment that 1.4 dioxane is "less acutely toxic than table salt" is so misleading since table salt does not cause cancer where 1.4 dixoane is a known carcinogenic. Let's call a spade a spade and say "Houston, we have a problem" here and let's put in the more monitoring wells, come up with a definitive water testing plan, and let's test both the private wells at the bottom of the mountain as well as the public wells for 1.4 dioxane...just like Mt. Olive did with Combe Fill North!! Now that's realistic!!
