Heidi was picked up by City of Wylie Animal Services today with a severed leg and exposed tissue and bone. She received immediate care at the shelter's vet, but she needs an amputation. Thanks to our partnership with Garland Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, she will receive the additional medical care needed on Friday. We cover the cost of life saving medical procedures, such as an amputation, for our partner shelters.

If you would like to support her care, you can donate directly on this post or at the link in the comments.

This poor girl truly got a second chance in life thanks to Mazie's Mission. She was picked up in terrible condition in one of our partner cities, and the wonderful team at Maize's took her into their rescue. She is now available for adoption through them!! ❤️

Boss has been at the shelter since OCTOBER 2025 almost an entire year. 💔 He has called the shelter “home” for far too long, and it’s time for him to finally learn that home is a place with a soft couch, love, and a family of his own. 🥹🏡

Boss is 7 years old and just the goofiest, happiest boy! He has been dog tested and is dog friendly, is incredibly gentle when taking treats, and already knows SIT, DOWN, and SHAKE. His favorite things are playing with a ball and squeaky toys. 🎾🧸

He is already vetted and heartworm negative—all he is missing is someone to choose him.

Please share Boss. After almost a year of waiting, maybe his person is just one share away. ❤️

🐾 Meet Molly ❤️ — She Just Needs a Little Time

Molly is a 7-year-old, 44-pound sweet girl who can be a little unsure of people she doesn’t know. In her kennel, she may bark when you first approach because she’s nervous and doesn’t know you yet. But don’t let that fool you! ❤️

Once Molly gets outside of her kennel, she is much calmer and more relaxed. She just needs a couple of meetings to learn that she can trust you. Once she feels comfortable with you, her sweet personality really comes out. 🥹❤️

🐾 Great on leash
🐾 Knows sit & shake
🐾 Potty trained! 🏡
🐾 Dog friendly 🐶
🐾 Much calmer outside her kennel
🐾 Sweet and affectionate once she trusts you

Molly needs a foster or adopter willing to take things slow and give her the chance to get to know them. She may not be the dog who runs up to a stranger and immediately asks for attention, but give her some time and she will show you what a wonderful girl she really is. ❤️

Please give Molly a couple of chances to meet you. She just needs someone patient enough to let her trust them. 🏡🐾

Randy — a 9-year-old senior gentleman who deserves a soft place to land.

Randy is one of those seniors who just breaks your heart. He is the sweetest, most gentle boy with such a calm and loving personality. 🥹❤️

Even when other dogs are barking around him, Randy simply minds his own business and keeps walking. He knows “sit” and is SO good at it, loves his squeaky toys, and is a low-energy boy who would be so happy just enjoying the simple comforts of a home.

Randy also keeps his kennel very clean, and when he was taken outside, the very first thing he did was go potty—so he seems to already have good potty-training habits! 🙌🐾

He walks very slowly and carefully, so he may have some arthritis or age-related stiffness, but don’t let that fool you this boy is still full of life and love to give.

At 9 years old, Randy shouldn’t be spending his days waiting in a shelter. He needs a family to give him the comfortable, loving retirement he deserves. We truly believe he will make someone incredibly happy. ❤️

For nearly a year, Tiramisu waited in the shelter for her chance.

Then, on March 9, she climbed aboard a lifesaving transport and traveled more than 1,000 miles north — toward a family she didn’t even know was waiting for her. ❤️

Today, Tiramisu is Teeter, and shelter life is a distant memory. She has a family who adores her, a dog sister to play with, adventures to enjoy, pillows to destroy 😂, and a whole lot of love.

This is what your donations make possible.

Your support helps Friends of Rescue Animals fund lifesaving transports that give shelter pets like Teeter the chance to leave the shelter behind and find the families they’ve been waiting for.

From nearly a year in a kennel to loved, spoiled and HOME. ❤️

Help us give more shelter pets their chance at a happy ending this North Texas Giving Day.

Cookie is such a gorgeous and unique girl—just look at those ears! 🥹💗 They give her so much personality!

She’s a very sweet girl who doesn’t jump on people, knows “sit” and “shake,” and absolutely LOVES squeaky toys and balls. 🎾🧸 This girl is a dream!

Cookie can react when walking past dogs barking from their kennels, but this does not define her. Kennel reactivity is common in shelters and can come from constant stress, noise, and overstimulation. Outside of that environment, we get to see the sweet and loving Cookie she truly is. ❤️

She loves being outside, playing with her toys, and soaking up all the attention. 🥹💗
