Withstand. A little about me and my desire for this organization! In March of 2022, my grandfather who we called "Pepaw" passed away and left a HUGE mark on everyone in my family. The slogan for Honor P.E.P.A.W. is Protect, Empathize, Provide, Advocate, and Withstand. All the things my Pepaw proudly was and stood for. I've never met an individual who was so compassionate for everyone that he encou
ntered, like my Pepaw. Another thing he was strongly known for was his lucky hand! That man loved those lottery tickets and definitely had the luck for it. On his final days, with short words, he shared with my dad, "of all the money I spent on lottery tickets, I wish I would have helped homelessness." When my dad shared that with me, I was so moved. I knew in that moment what I wanted to do to honor him. During that time, I had just obtained a certificate in Small Business Management and was in the works for obtaining additional certificates in Administrative Management and Specialties Leadership. However, once I completed school and had these certificates, I had NO IDEA how I wanted to utilize them! Until I met a lovely woman who gave me so much inspiration in starting a nonprofit organization! She shared the ins and outs of how to get started and what to expect. Even went as far as guiding me on how to obtain my EIN (which is currently in the works, I should hear something by 6/30!). However, when I started the process, I quickly realized how pricey it was to get started! So, just as quickly as I was inspired, I was quickly discouraged. /: I then let the idea go and told myself, "one day." WELL, my one day has come! I have huge dreams and aspirations for this nonprofit and I look forward to sharing every adventure with each of you!
