April K. Gunter Foundation The April K. Gunter Foundation The Foundation, a 501(c)3 Charitable Organization, was founded in memory of April K. It is the intention of the April K.

Gunter who spent her last six years of life serving students, schools and the community through participation in local programs and organizations. April's passion was working with the schools and community organizations to provide services to those students and community families who need help and access to community services. In the last few years, her focus moved specifically to supporting mento

r programs that provided both adult and student executed mentoring to at-risk youth in the Round Rock Independent School Districts. Through April's efforts, she was able to make a lasting impact on the programs, teachers, local business/organizations, mentors, and mentees. Gunter Foundation to continue April's legacy of service by enriching mentoring programs through financial support and by encouraging others to continue to mentor. The Foundation's goals are to raise funds for two areas of focus: 1) to provide scholarships to college bound student mentors who have demonstrated a passion for community service and 2) to channel funds to local independent school district mentor programs to help support costs of operations. Congratulations to the 2016 April K. Gunter Memorial Scholarship recipient, Savannah Gillispie! Savannah mentors at her school and volunteers at her church. This fall, she will be attending UT and studying Pediatric Nursing. We know April is smiling down on this sweet young lady :)

We are finally an official 501(c)3 organization! After a long process with several mistakes and re-starts, we finally received our official designation status letter from the IRS yesterday.
