Supporting law enforcement families through financial assistance, holiday support, scholarships, and year-round community care. Operation Santa's SLED (Support Law Enforcement Drive)

The mission of Operation Santa’s SLED is to support law enforcement officers and their families who are experiencing a personal crisis by purchasing Christmas gifts for the family, providing a cash donation to each f

amily and arranging for a special gift delivery that demonstrates support, encouragement, and fellowship. How the Program Works
• How the Program Works
• Nominations are accepted from local, county and state law enforcement agencies.
• Families are selected by the program committee members according to their need and circumstances.
• Once a family has been selected, the agency liaison will work with the family to provide a wish list for each child.
• We collect donations through GoFundMe and local agency efforts (No Shave November and other collections).
• Designated shoppers purchase and wrap gifts for each family.
• The ability to fulfill the children’s wish lists is dependent on the support of our fundraising effort.
• When the wish list is fulfilled, any remaining funds are provided as a monetary donation to the family.
• Depending on the family’s preference, gifts can be delivered to the children by Santa during a parade consisting of a variety of law enforcement and local fire/ems vehicles, a private Santa delivery, or a private delivery via the agency liaison. A family of a police officer, corrections officer, probation officer, parole officer or dispatcher who is in need. Behind the Badge: Memorial Tribute
In Honor of Sergeant Nigel Barnett | Mile 34

At this year’s Pedal for Presents, we will honor the life and service of Sergeant Nigel Barnett, Station Commander at the New York State Police Cortlandt Station, Troop K.

Sergeant Barnett lost his life in a motorcycle crash on September 16, 2025, while on his way to work. He served with the New York State Police for 19 years and was known for his steady leadership, professionalism, and dedication to both his fellow troopers and the community he served.

He leaves behind his son, Nigel, his partner Kristin Denu, and his stepdaughters, Giavanna and Londyn.

At Mile 34, we will pause to honor Sergeant Barnett’s life, service, and memory, and to show his family that they are not alone.
