Your Voice Matters. Your Actions Can Save a Life.

Su***de prevention isn't just for adults. Young people can make a difference, too!

The Chaves County Health Council is offering QPR Su***de Prevention Training for youth ages 14 and older.

Learn how to:
Recognize warning signs that someone may be struggling.
Start a conversation with a friend who needs help.
Connect someone to support and resources.

You don't have to have all the answers to help someone. Sometimes, knowing what to say and where to turn can make all the difference.

Ages 14+ | Space is limited!

HAGERMAN BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OPENS 2 WEEKS!

Don’t forget Enrollment will be available on a **first-come, first-served basis** limited to 15 members. Once the available spaces within an age group are filled, children in that group will be placed on a waiting list. Because members are separated into age groups, availability and waiting lists will be managed by age group—not solely by the Club’s overall enrollment.

Parents and guardians will need to:

1. Download the enrollment paperwork from the Hagerman Club webpage.
2. Complete all required documents.
3. Email the completed documents to [email protected]

Once receive the paperwork, will contact the parent or guardian to confirm receipt and discuss the next steps.

Please respond promptly if the New Mexico Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) contacts you. Missed calls or delayed responses can delay your state childcare contract. If the contract is delayed or state payment cannot be processed, the parent or guardian may be responsible for the resulting balance.

Homelessness doesn't always start on the street.

For many people, it starts with a financial crisis they simply can't absorb — a car repair, reduced work hours, illness, a utility bill or rent they can't cover.

The numbers in Chaves County tell us that many of our neighbors are already financially vulnerable.

So when we talk about homelessness in Roswell, we also need to talk about what happens before someone loses their housing.

By the time someone is sleeping in a car or on the street, we're often seeing the end of a much longer story.

If we want to reduce homelessness, we have to start earlier.
