I'm so thankful for all of you who have been supporting my little adventure here and asking when the honey will be available. Unfortunately, 4 out of my 5 hives didn't make it through the summer. And all their honey was pillaged by feral bees. I will have to do some rebuilding before next spring, but no honey for this year.

Whoa! How did a year go by so fast? As some of you know, I had some health problems in 2019 that slowed down my beekeeping. But things are all good now, and I'm hoping to harvest some honey in a few more weeks! For now, here's a game of Queenspotting! Comment with a 🐝 once you found her.

How crazy is this?! On Sunday I get called out to do a removal under this house. Then on Monday a new swarm landed and was headed for the same spot!!

Last night's adventure had me deep in an attic in Hitchcock to remove a colony.

This is good reminder that now's the time to check around your roofline to make sure it's all sealed up!

Checked on the swarm rescue yesterday. Look at how busy they've been since Wednesday! And it's all full of eggs and a little nectar!! I also gave them an extra two frames taken from a strong hive with honey, pollen, and brood. These girls are gonna do great!

If you can spot the queen leave a 🐝 comment. Don't spoil it. I'll reveal the answer tomorrow. The queen is almost twice as long as the worker bees and she usually has a bald black back with a long abdomen. Sometimes she has a ring of "attendant" bees circling her too.
