Do you find yourself reacting to other people's lack of action? Are you irritated that someone did not follow through with a "promise"? Are you gossiping about the situation by telling someone else "Can you believe ___?"
These are questions that we need to ask ourselves. I had this conversation today and it struck me how often people (myself included) get angry because of others' actions or lack there of. We allow that to gaslight us into shame or blame with thoughts of "maybe it's my fault they did not ___?"
STOP!
We can NOT control what someone else thinks, says or does (doesn't) do! We can only control what WE think, what WE say, and what WE do or don't do!
One way we can help prevent these situations is by having honest conversation with people. Let them know your expectations. Ask them to define theirs. Strengthen your relationships by having empathetic, authentic, and loving conversations. Now Go Live R.E.A.L.!
