Dear Friends and Supporters,
After much reflection, deliberation, and careful evaluation of our future, the Board of Directors made the difficult decision to formally dissolve The Upper West Shore Alliance.
We want to make one thing utterly clear: our passion and love for all of the communities of Flathead Lake remains as strong today as it was on the day we founded this organization. This decision was not made out of a lack of commitment to our community, but rather out of a deep responsibility to it.
As Directors, we have come to recognize that this specific nonprofit is no longer the most effective way to achieve our goals. We firmly believe that we can better serve our community through more direct routes moving forward.
We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and we owe a debt of gratitude to every volunteer, member, and partner who stood alongside us.
At the start of the month we began the process of winding down our operations in an orderly manner, settling all outstanding accounts, and ensuring that our remaining assets are distributed in strict accordance with state laws and our organizational bylaws to maximize their continued utility.
While this specific chapter is closing, our shared mission is not. Thank you for your years of unwavering support, dedication, and trust. We have proven that together we can make a difference. It is up to each one of us individually to stand up and support our neighbors and community if we want to maintain the rural character of this area that we all love so much. Support growth that protects and enhances the natural environment, water quality
and wildlife. Show up to the meetings, write letters, fill seats, and vote wisely. We have something very precious here on the shores of Flathead Lake.
