Fire Blight Response Event

Tuesday July 21st at 2 p.m. in the Polson Library.

This event is in response to the bacterium Fire Blight being detected and spreading throughout Polson and Lake County. It affects plants in the Rosaceae family including apple, pear, crabapple, and mountain ash.
Please attend to find out how to protect your trees, how to prevent spreading, and what treatments are available.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 24th, Mitchell Morgan, Deputy Director of Constituent Services with Senator Tim Sheehy's office, will be at the Lake County Courthouse, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm in the small conference room (3rd floor) to meet with constituents in Lake County who have any questions or issues with federal offices or services.

As the Flathead Valley’s latest luxury resort Territory 1889, also known as the Flathead Lake Club, makes its way through state and local review processes, the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is preparing to host a public hearing Thursday on a draft of the club’s Environmental Assessment (EA) for sanitary facilities. The Flathead County Planning Board is accepting "letters of interest" to serve on the Planning Board. The board has nine members, including a representative from the Flathead Conservation District. There are two (2) positions that recently became vacant and will fill existing terms expiring, December 31, 2026 and December 31, 2027. These positions are appointed by the Flathead County Commissioners.
