Join Understanding and Supporting immigrant Survivors of Domestic Violence webinar Monday October 26, 2026 from Noon to 1PM on Zoom.
The webinar will give an in-depth look at:
• the ways abuse may show up in immigrant communities
• present ways to address domestic violence while remaining respectful of cultural practices and values
• connect to the responsibility we have to ensure that single cases of abuse are not seen as representative of immigrant communities as a whole.

In addition to the presentation, participants will discuss real-life scenarios and share ideas with colleagues in the field.

📚 A book or Bible in a familiar language can make a lonely day a little brighter.

Recently, 16 Bibles & New Testaments and 12 novels were delivered to the Greene County Jail in Haitian Kreyol, Russian, Vietnamese, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Thank you to our generous donors and drop-off partners for making these deliveries possible! 💙

Individuals in immigration detention spend much of their day in their cells. Reading materials are among the few personal items allowed, but access to books, especially in an original language, is extremely limited.

You can help! We always need new Spanish-language (and other languages) paperback books, including Bibles, other religious texts, and novels.

Receiving bond is very unusual. Knowing that we’re making a difference for those we serve despite these challenges is one thing that keeps Abide in Love’s volunteers going. We’re able to provide our detainees with information that many wouldn’t have access to otherwise. Clarity can bring hope and peace during difficult times like these. To us, that is worth something, even if we can’t give a detainee the answers they want to hear.

Attorney German has been such a blessing to Abide in Love and the people we serve, having assisted dozens of immigrants in detention here in Phelps County Jail. We were so blessed to have him speak to us yesterday about the challenges immigrants are facing, trying to keep their families together and live their American dream with dignity and due process. Abide in Love invites you to our September meeting featuring immigration attorney Germán González Herrera of González Herrera Law Firm, LLC. Join us at the Rolla Public LIbrary Saturday, Sept 26 at 1PM.

Germán has served hundreds of immigrant families across the country. He holds three law degrees and is licensed to practice law in both Colombia and Missouri. During this meeting, he will help participants better understand the current immigration landscape and the challenges immigrant families may face.

This presentation is intended for anyone who wants a clearer, more informed understanding of the immigration system.
