Meet our newest foster, Lily, a sweet Chihuahua mix who is about 6-8 months old. She's one of the dogs from the huge backyard breeding situation, where over 100 dogs were living on one property. As you may have seen in some of our other posts, we teamed up with other rescues for this large-scale operation, and this was just round one. There are still so many dogs there that need help, and we’re so grateful for our rescue partners that are running point on this huge mission.
Lily is very shy and takes time to warm up. When things feel scary, she hides and shuts down, but she has shown no signs of aggression. She just needs patience and time to decide you're safe. Once she does, she's a total snuggle bug who loves burrowing into bed with her people.
She's doing great with other dog-friendly dogs, she doesn't mind cats, and she loves toys and canned food treats (the way to this girl's heart!). We're working on building her confidence one day at a time.
What Lily's ideal home looks like:
🤍 Someone willing to take it slow and let her set the pace.
🤍 A fairly quiet home, since new people are scary at first.
🤍 A confident, dog-friendly dog who can show her the ropes and help her come out of her shell.
Lily isn't available just yet while she settles in and gains confidence, but she'll be looking for her special someone soon. Stay tuned for updates! 💕
