KIN·DOM CAMP iS BACK!

Kin·dom camp is an opportunity for LBGTQIA+ youth ages 12-17 to feel safe and free to show up as their full selves. Campers will have the chance to experience all the fun that camp has to offer in a week filled with affirmation, community, and celebration.

This camp is affirming – full stop. It affirms all genders, sexualities, identities, religious backgrounds, and varieties of belief. The only thing we expect is a commitment to welcoming and celebrating everyone where they are, as they are.

June 15 - 20 at Stronghold Camp & Retreat Center.

One of the things that makes the work we do so fulfilling is the trans kids. We see them finally get to express themselves as who they truly are, and the joy that they feel is incredible. We get amazing stories sent to us from families we've worked with and whose lives we've impacted. Here is one of the most recent:

"I am so very happy for my daughter. She struggled for so long and was so unhappy and angry. It was a surprise when she came out and a bit of an adjustment with pronouns but seeing her happy is the best gift I could have been given. She smiles with her heart and I see happiness in her eyes. I have never wanted anything but happiness for me children and seeing her comfortable in her own skin is a beautiful thing. My home and heart will always be a safe place for this community. It takes courage to be yourself when you know so much of society is against you. I am thankful for places like this where trans people feel loved and accepted. 🥰🏳️‍⚧️" -Jen

The fact that there are adults out there trying to take away that feeling of love and acceptance and JOY is mind boggling to me, and we will continue to stand up and fight back whenever we're needed.

Stateline Indivisible thank you for organizing, sharing, speaking and collaborating on this important issue!
Rockford Area Pride thank you for sharing posts, advocating, speaking and supporting our students!

A big THANK YOU to all of our Hononegah students who gathered the courage to speak on behalf of the people AT the school NOW!
You are heard, loved and valued! We all showed up and will continue to show up. 33 people spoke in support of our trans and nonbinary students. Thank you to everyone that spoke in support, took the (LONG) time away from your family to show solidarity and to the board members that had to endure this unnecessary expenditure based on a false claim.
Lastly, thank you to the entire Rockton Pride board- everyone came together in 36 hours and were able to host a safe space, collaborate and support the community which we are here to advocate for. We aren’t going anywhere (just restructuring!).

We will be offering a safe space with restrooms, snacks and refreshments tomorrow evening before (5pm) AND after the board meeting at Hononegah. We will also have transportation to/from the meeting for those concerned with safety. Please read through the etiquette guide, as we are working closely with Transupfrontil to keep this a unity event and not a protest. Please message for location and any questions.
