We wanted to share an update on our fundraising totals! We have a current total of $11,293.96! This is AMAZING! Here's a little breakdown:
$3,900 from Hoops for Haiti sponsorships
$2,629 from cash donations at the game on Friday night (50/50, bake sale, kids corner, retired Rockford gear, halftime shooting, etc.)
$4,764.96 from elementary shoot-a-thon participants (I was told that some students gave every penny in their piggy banks so that kids in Haiti could go to school! What BIG hearts our kids have!)
A final fundraising total will be shared after we calculate online donations to www.haitipoverty.org and purchases made to www.giftofhopehaiti.org (it's not too late to shop).
It would not be unusual to have goodbyes in Haiti look like gratitude. Hugs were given, kisses were blown, hands were waved, and vans/trucks were chased by happy and hopeful children! Because of this community, there are going to be some very happy and hopeful students who will receive the gift of literacy. Thank you will never seem like enough but from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
