We are back again with another…

Project Spotlight ✨

Teen Federation member Carter Tharp created this incredible piece entirely out of recycled magazine pages. Using over 300 rolled paper tubes and spending nearly 3 months on construction, Carter transformed everyday materials into a colorful and eye-catching work of art.

Carter says this became one of his favorite projects because he enjoyed watching small individual pieces come together into something much bigger and more impactful. He also loved finding creative ways to reuse materials that would normally be thrown away.

This project was exhibited at the Fair and earned a State Fair Delegation — an exciting accomplishment that reflects the creativity, patience, and dedication put into the piece!

Join our 4-H Teen Federation for a fun, hands-on candle making workshop. Participants will create their own custom candles to take home or gift to someone special.

This workshop is youth-led, with Teen Federation members guiding each step of the process. You’ll get to choose your own colors, scents, and decorative elements to make a candle that’s completely your own—no experience needed.

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Pork Chop Dinner! We are so grateful for our community, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make the evening a success.

From serving meals, baking desserts, helping behind the scenes, and simply showing up to support — we appreciate each and every one of you. Events like this would not be possible without our amazing community and hardworking 4-H families and members.

We hope you enjoyed the food, desserts, and time together. Thank you again for supporting our club and local youth programs!

Join us Sunday, February 1 for the 2026 State 4-H Horse Judging Contest on the Galva, IL East campus of Black Hawk College!

4-H members are invited to learn about horses all while developing life skills such as objective reasoning, decision-making, public speaking, and teamwork at the Illinois 4-H State Horse Judging Contest. The primary objective of these contests is to provide an opportunity for youth to demonstrate their knowledge of equine-related subject matter in a competitive setting where attitudes of friendliness and fairness prevail.

The contest starts at 1pm! Register by January 28 at go.illinois.edu/4HHorseJudging. If you need reasonable accommodation to participate, please contact the State 4-H Office.
