Great turnout last night at our AUSA Rock Island Arsenal Chapter Membership Meeting at Great River Brewery! 🍻

It was a fantastic evening connecting with members, welcoming new faces, and sharing updates on everything our chapter has been working on. From recapping recent accomplishments to talking through upcoming volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved, the energy in the room was strong.

We’re grateful for such an engaged and supportive community—this is what makes our chapter thrive. Looking forward to building on this momentum and seeing even more of you at our next event! 🇺🇸

AUSA is accepting applications for more than $340,000 in national scholarships in 2026, with 46 scholarships awarded by AUSA and seven administered in conjunction with the Army.

AUSA’s national scholarships include awards for science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs, and general studies, and they range from $2,000 to $25,000.

This year, AUSA also is introducing a new scholarship in honor of retired Lt. Gen. Richard Trefry, a World War II and Vietnam veteran and longtime AUSA senior fellow who died Feb. 25, 2023.

What to Watch: Open to AUSA Premium members or their children or grandchildren, applications will be accepted online until May 7.

A message from our Chapter President, Dan Mitchell - retired Garrison Commander from the Rock Island Arsenal - on what Veterans Day means to him.

“What I learned is that being a veteran transcends us from all our differences. We discover that at our core, we’re simply people - Americans.”

Thank you to the City of Bettendorf, Iowa for hosting today’s Veterans Day ceremony, and for recognizing our community’s veterans and their families.
