Hello everyone!
It has been a while since we have activated Ezer Shield but I had a request come in tonight.
I received word tonight from a family at church that knows of a single mom in WNC that has 3 kids still living in a small 25’ camper within a camp ground. She was displaced by Helen over a year ago and has been humbly living in these tight conditions just trying to make it until she can afford something more permanent. She is paying rent for the facilities but is struggling from what I have been told. I have asked this family at church to get me more details but I wanted to go ahead and put this out there since they know this mother personally.
I would love to find a bunk house style camper for her. I know the storm has long passed us by but there are a lot of folks still trying to survive up there in WNC. If anybody has it in their hearts to donate a camper for this family please let me know. We can also take tax deductible donations to try and buy one as well but that could take some time to accomplish. Last winter was not terribly cold but they are calling for some serious cold temps for this winter. It would be great to get this family situated in a little more stable set up with some more room asap. Also, I think her stove has stopped working in this current camper. Let me know if you want to help.
It is important to note that this mother has not asked one time for help or a new camper. Some folks that camp at this park have come together to help supply Christmas for the family, food, supplies and rent money since Snap benifits have stopped. They have that covered for now bit stay tuned incase we need to gather some items. This family from my church asked the mother what she wanted for Christmas and all she wanted was a crockpot so she could cook meals for the kids and herself.
Our ultimate goal as Ezer Shield is to help with a more stable living environment at this point so let me
