Spooky Whiskers Rescue

Spooky Whiskers Rescue Nonprofit neonatal & medically complex cat rescue located in Rock Hill, SC. EIN 99-4905435. Caring for over 60 cats daily. Donate supplies/funds via linktree

We are a nonprofit feral cat rescue that focuses on trapping, vetting, socializing, and rehoming entire feral colonies in our area. Our goal is to prevent feral cats from returning to the streets. This is no easy task and it takes up a lot of time and resources due to feral fosters being long term fosters. Ferals take a lot more time to learn to trust humans and become socialized to the point of m

eeting requirements for adoption. This is why most rescues focus on TNR which means "trap, neuter, release". As successful as TNR is, it still has its downsides. The cats returned after TNR will only be vaccinated for 1 year. They will need a daily caregiver assigned to their colony to make sure they are being provided food, water, and some form of shelter. Which will require continuous funding. Even though they are vaccinated and spayed/neutered they still have a much shorter lifespan than house cats. If they do not have a permanent caregiver their lifespan decreases even more to an average of less than 2 years. They will also continue to harm local wildlife populations. All of these reasons are why we want to focus on removing feral colonies from the streets completely. We are asking for donations to continue to support our nonprofit. This project is not just helping feral cats and kittens. It’s removing a feral colony from our streets. In return, this supports our community, our local animal shelters, and our local cat rescues with the ever growing stray/feral cat population and their negative effects on the environment. Help us help our community! Please consider donating today!! If you would like to learn more about the negative effects of stray/feral cat colonies please read the info below:

According to several studies conducted on the negative effects of stray and feral cat populations in the United States, domestic cats are becoming one of America’s most impactful invasive species. Stray and feral cats have presented several ecological, economic, and ethical problems for decades. This includes but is not limited to, endangering billions of birds and mammals each year, the extinction of 63 species of birds/mammals/reptiles, spreading disease to native wildlife, and inbreeding which can cause birth defects. It is estimated that there are 60 and 100 million stray and feral cats in the United States. An unspayed female cat can go into heat every 3 weeks, up to 20 times per year. This means once a female cat reaches 4-6 months of age she can have up to 3 litters per year, with an average of 4-6 kittens per litter. In just seven years, one pair of unneutered cats and their offspring can produce 420,000 cats. This is why spaying and neutering is so important. While there are local animal shelters, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations assisting in this national crisis, they can only do so much. Which is why we have decided to do what we can to help.

Small progress is being made!

As you guys know, our rescue has a spooky theme. We like to use that theme to bring awareness to true crime cases by allowing our Patreon members to vote on names when we get a litter of kittens in the rescue. This is how it works:

We will post pictures of each kitten with a temporary name in the picture like “Boy 1”. Then we will post the name of a specific true crime incident or the directory for missing women/men/children in America. Members will click on the link and browse the case and/or cases and choose names of victims for each kitten by commenting on the post below.

For example: Girl 1: Christina Carter, Girl 2: June Streeter and so on...

After 1 week we will count the votes and the names with the most votes will be assigned to the kittens! This is a another fun way for our Patreon members to get to be a part of our rescues lives and it will bring awareness to the victims cases. It’s a win win!!

Cat thrown from car update 1

06/02/2026

A vet tech from Ebenezer Animal Hospital just witnessed a person throwing an 8-10 week old kitten from their car!! The kitten has sustained pretty serious injuries. The vet tech rushed her to Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Rock Hill.

Based on what we could see it looks like she may have bilateral flailed chests. This means multiple ribs on each side of her body are broken and every time she breathes the ribs move back and forth with the expansion of her lungs. You can see the movement of her ribs in one of the videos I posted. This type of injury can cause major complications like a pneumothorax or tension pneumothorax (a hole in her lungs) or the ribs could impale other organs. With a kitten being so small and hitting a hard surface at such a fast rate it’s possible that there are several internal injuries that may require emergency surgery. Once I know more I will let you guys know!

Also, Jeanine’s pneumonia is getting worse. She’s refusing to eat or drink and you can hear the fluid moving around her lungs every time she takes a breath. She is going to be rushed back to the vet first thing in the morning.

We were already struggling financially but now we are right back at wiping out all of our funds and it won’t even make a dent in either of these cases. Please share our content and ask your friends and family to consider a small donation. THANK YOU!!!
