ATTENTION ROCHESTER

Don't forget, tomorrow morning at 0900 hours, it’s time once again for Coffee with the Chief and Rochester’s Finest at the Rochester Police Department.

This is your opportunity to:

Ask questions
Meet your officers
Talk about community concerns
Drink questionable amounts of caffeine with cops who have already been awake since yesterday

Come down, hang out, and solve the world’s problems with us… or at least help us figure out why people still don't yield at yield signs!

There will be:

☕ Coffee
🍩 Donuts
👮 Police officers
🧓 At least one person asking where they can complain about turkeys
🚓 Sgr. Leddin trying to explain why every police department should have a motor unit
😂 Probably sarcasm...lots of it!

And remember… if you wave at us on the way there, please use all your fingers. Community policing at its finest.

OH YEAH… WE FORGOT TO MENTION SOMETHING IMPORTANT…

Tomorrow morning’s Coffee with the Chief isn’t just Coffee with the Chief…

IT’S ALSO HAWAIIAN SHIRT FRIDAY AT TEAM RPD!

Rumor has it the Chief will be showing up in his finest “retired guy on vacation at 0900 hours” Hawaiian shirt, and honestly… nobody is emotionally prepared for that level of tropical professionalism.

So if you’re coming down tomorrow morning for Coffee with the Chief at the Rochester Police Department, we are officially encouraging everyone to wear their BEST Hawaiian shirt!

Best Hawaiian Shirt gets a patch and challenge coin!

TEAM RPD PSA: SHARING THE ROADWAY WITH HORSES

Here in Rochester, we are proud to be a Right to Farm community, and horses are a big part of the character and history of our town. So if you see a horse and rider on the roadway, remember…this isn’t Boston traffic with someone yelling out the window, horses can spook easily and weigh about 1,000 pounds with built-in turbo mode.

✅ DO:
• Slow down when approaching horses
• Give them plenty of space when passing
• Be patient and wait for a safe opportunity to pass
• Follow any directions from the rider
• Wave politely with ALL your fingers

❌ DON’T:
• Lay on your horn like you’re late for the Daytona 500
• Rev your engine or blast music
• Speed past the horse
• Tailgate behind them
• Assume the horse understands traffic laws better than some drivers we stop…because honestly, that’s a close call some days

Remember, riders are doing their best to safely enjoy our beautiful town just like everyone else. A little patience goes a long way in keeping both people and animals safe.

Community Policing at Its Finest…now with horsepower.

🤠🐂 TEAM RPD’S OFFICIAL RODEO DOS & DON’TS at New England Rodeo🐂🤠

Tonight’s safety briefing is brought to you by Team RPD… because history has proven some of y’all cannot be left unsupervised near cowboy hats and food trucks.

✅ DO:

Wear boots, jeans, and your best cowboy hat.

Cheer loudly for the riders.

Support local vendors and grab some Blue Saddle Foundation swag.

Stay hydrated. Rodeos and questionable dancing both require fluids.

Wave to the officers working the event… preferably with ALL five fingers.

Remember this is family fun, not amateur UFC night.

❌ DON’T:

Try riding a bull because “you watched Yellowstone once.”

Ask officers if the mechanical bull counts as a motor vehicle. We still don’t have a legal opinion on that one.

DAFO at the rodeo. Cowboys may get thrown by bulls… you’ll get thrown into handcuffs.

Challenge random cowboys to fights. Some of them wrestle livestock recreationally.

Pet horses from behind unless you want to meet Jesus early.

Drink alcohol in the parking lot. This is a rodeo, not the Daytona 500 in Wranglers.

Say “hold my beer” before making a life decision. Nothing good has EVER followed those words.

Final reminder from Team RPD:

Have fun, be safe, respect the venue, and if you end up in the back of a cruiser tomorrow night… congratulations, you officially became the evening entertainment.

Guess who’s going to be at the rodeo? Yep… the Blue Saddle Foundation!

So stop by, say hello, and check out what we’re all about. We’ll have some BSF shwag available so you can represent a cause that truly matters, equine therapy and wellness support for law enforcement officers.

Because the strongest thing an officer can do… is take care of themselves.

Come support the mission, talk horses, mental wellness, law enforcement, and maybe even see the Chief pretending he knows how to ride like a cowboy.

The store has officially opened...now what are you waiting for? Buy some cool gear and help support our law enforcement ...
