Nothing says Independence Day quite like a horse, an American flag, and the next generation proudly carrying on America’s traditions.

Come on out this Saturday night to celebrate the 4th of July with New England Rodeo! Bring the family, wear your red, white, and blue, and enjoy a night of bull riding, patriotism, and cowboys who willingly climb on animals that clearly did not sign a consent form.

Team RPD will be there keeping everyone safe, saying hello, and pretending we understand rodeo rules beyond “hold on and don’t become a lawn dart.”

Just one friendly reminder...the only thing that should be riding dirty this weekend is your boots after walking through the arena

Attention Rochester residents...

If you've been thinking about getting a dog, tomorrow may be your lucky day. If you've been thinking about not getting a dog, we recommend avoiding eye contact with any puppies between 1 PM and 3 PM because resistance will be futile.

Our friends Capt. Bonney's Creamery and Lighthouse Animal Shelter are hosting a Dog Adoption Day tomorrow from 1 PM - 3 PM!

Be warned:

Side effects may include excessive tail wagging.

Random acts of happiness.

Increased spending on dog treats.

Finding yourself saying, "We're just looking," and leaving with a new family member.

The Rochester Police Department cannot be held responsible for any puppy-induced decisions, surprise adoptions, or the sudden appearance of a four-legged best friend sleeping on your couch tomorrow night.

Stop by, meet some amazing rescue dogs, and maybe find your new partner in crime-fighting...or at least squirrel-chasing.

Oh yeah, they have really good ice cream...but who needs ice cream when you can adopt a puppy!
