We are a United Way donor option organization. Contributions may be made through your employers United Way campaign. Our United Way ID # is: 1424. Membership is free and open to any individual who is interested in improving the divorce/separation experience for children, parents, and the entire restructured family. We operate solely on your contributions. Despite the fact that many fathers are acti
ve, involved parents in families today, many people still believe that men are unaffected by divorce and separation. Simply put, that’s just not true. We have assisted thousands of fathers and families during difficult periods of adjustment. WHAT WE BELIEVE
That maintaining meaningful parent/child relationships should be the primary goal of any custodial arrangement
That children enjoy healthier emotional development when they are loved, cared for, and supported by BOTH parents. That parenting is a task which can be successfully completed when BOTH parents participate. That the separation and divorce process need not be destructive to the family. That the biases in the practice of law that discriminate against fathers should be eliminated. That the guidelines for the financial needs of children should be equitable for BOTH parents. That parenting time for the non-residential parent be as enforceable as child support, and neither of the two should ever be neglected. WHERE TO FIND US & WHAT WE DO
We gather at The Gates Presbyterian Church, 1049 Wegman Rd. Rochester, NY 14624 on specified dates. You can find these updated presentation dates at our web site. At these presentations fathers share their experiences within the comfort of small informal groups. The result of this sharing is positive and often we leave with a great sense of hope, having learned that we are not alone in our feelings. Equal Rights for Fathers offers a unique opportunity for those wishing to identify their deepest values in times of personal adjustment. Each person who attends our meetings or requests assistance through email can find a wealth of helpful information furnished by supportive individuals of ERFF, from the legal & mental health community and the years of research, Equal Rights for Fathers has committed itself to.
