We are seeking volunteers!!

Project Community Connect (PCC) provides essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness, those at risk of becoming homeless, and low-income community members. It operates as a “one-stop shop,” offering a wide range of community resources, including housing assistance, financial support, employment services, legal aid, and veteran programs. The event will also feature a free meal, access to Minnesota ID cards, haircuts, medical services, shoes from the Shoe Bus, and much more.

This event is a powerful opportunity to engage with the community in a meaningful way—building connections, fostering collaboration, and breaking down misconceptions about homelessness and poverty. PCC is not a charity event; rather, it is a coordinated effort to improve service delivery and work collectively toward ending homelessness.

Last year, we served approximately 270 individuals, and we are currently seeking dedicated volunteers to help make this event a success! Volunteers play a critical role in ensuring a welcoming, organized, and impactful experience for all attendees.

Opportunities include:

• Event setup and teardown
• Greeting and check-in support
• Assisting service providers and resource tables
• Helping guide attendees throughout the event
• Supporting meal distribution and general hospitality
• Licensed hair stylists to provide hair cuts

A few hours of your day will make a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve, and your time and energy will be greatly appreciated. Connections made in just one day, the impact can last a lifetime. This event reflects the core values of the Olmsted Co community: respect, compassion, healing, teamwork, innovation, and stewardship.

We would be honored to have you join us as a volunteer for this impactful day of service.

Attention Olmsted County! We have officially Rescheduled 2026 Project Community Connect! We are now accepting registrations for the Event!

Please sign up your organization by Friday April 24th, 2026 here: 2026 Rescheduled Project Community Connect Registration

The event will be Friday May 22nd, 2026 from 10AM to 2PM at Christ United Methodist Church.

PCC is a “one-stop shop” model of delivering services. Attendees will have access to a wide variety of community resources including housing, financial, employment, education, legal and veteran programs. The event includes a free meal, free HIV testing, The Shoe Bus, medical services and much more. PCC is a great opportunity to engage the community in a meaningful way by volunteering, creating new partnerships and dispelling myths about low-income and homeless people. This is not a “charity” event. This event makes systems more efficient by developing a better way of providing services, working together, and ending homelessness.

In 2025 PCC brought together over 50 service providers, reducing the time it takes to develop community connections from several months to just a few minutes. The event has served hundreds of individuals from the community every year it has been held, and we would love for you to be a part of it!

Vendors & volunteers can start arriving at 8 AM for set up & be ready to go by 10 AM. It is expected that all vendors stay until the event ends @ 2 PM.
There is no fee to be a vendor, and each registration may include one 8’ table and two chairs. With the limited space of the venue, you may be asked to provide your own. If your agency requires more than one table, please indicate this on the registration form.

If you cannot attend that day but would like to have informational items available, please let us know. If you know other agencies who may be interested in a table, feel free to forward this email to them!

To make a monetary donation to PCC please contact Christi Anderson at Three Rivers: [email protected]

For additional questions, please contact me directly at: [email protected]

Maps and further information will be sent in May for the event. See you there!

The Olmsted County Homeless Community Network is gearing up for our annual Project Community Connect! This event is rooted in community care, bringing partners and volunteers together to support each other during some of life’s toughest moments. It’s a day where individuals experiencing homelessness can access essential resources, services, and a warm sense of connection.

And to make it happen, we need you.

We’re looking to partner with local businesses, individuals, and organizations who want to show up for our unhoused community members. Whether it’s donating items, offering services, sharing expertise, or helping spread the word, every contribution helps strengthen the safety net we build together.

Project Community Connect is a powerful reminder that when times are hard, community can be the bright spot. If you or your organization would like to get involved, have ideas, or are interested in sponsoring, we’d love to connect.

Christi Anderson (Three Rivers Community Action)
