DAV Auxiliary Minnesota State Department With nearly a quarter-million members, the DAVA programs are far-reaching and the personal rewards fulfilling.

Started in 1946 the MN State Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) has partnered with the DAV parent organization in their mission of service to disabled Veterans and their families. lourish and the blended organizations have achieved many victories in their quest to improve the quality of life our veterans rightly deserve. Our members are diverse in their interests which is what has made the DAVA so successful. Our programs include Americanism, Community Service, Junior Activities, Legislative, and VA Voluntary Services. Foremost in our hearts is the goal of assuring benefit entitlement and compassion for our disabled veterans.

Sandy Martin served as State Commander of the Minnesota Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, a role she was honored to hold.

From her installation at Treasure Island Casino in Welch, Minnesota, to connecting with so many dedicated individuals along the way, she was continually reminded that the mission matters -- serving those who served us.

Sandy believes deeply in the power of education to strengthen units, communities, and better support veterans and their families. By sharing knowledge and resources, meaningful change becomes possible.

She always emphasizes the importance of family. Supporting veterans is not something done alone -- it takes a united effort to ensure every veteran and their family receives the support, connection, and care they deserve.

Coming from a smaller unit (Mayo SE Unit 28), Sandy is especially grateful to those who believed in her and recognize that passion, commitment, and fresh perspectives make a lasting impact.

Well her term as state commander has come to a close, Sandy will continue to stand besides this mission and support veterans however she can.
