Association for Teen-Age Diplomats (ATAD) ATAD is an all-volunteer organization which coordinates international exchanges between Rochester and its Sister Cities.

The Association for Teen-Age Diplomats (ATAD) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1951, which coordinates international exchanges for high school students. The purpose of the ATAD student exchange program is to improve understanding of peoples and cultures through family living experiences. ATAD is officially recognized by the United States Department of State. On the basis of materials submi

tted and reviewed, the Council on International Educational Travel grants full listing to ATAD in the 2011 - 2012 Advisory Listing. ATAD is a Rochester, NY USA based volunteer organization. Most members of the organization have had their own children in the program, have been students in the program, have been host families or have been a combination of all of these. ATAD has a network of Liaisons in each city who coordinate placement of Americans Overseas and recruitment of International Students coming to the USA. International Liaisons and their US counterparts engage and communicate with the students and families to assure a rewarding experience for all.

This past week our students from Germany? Italy and Spain had lunch with our seniors and shared a little about themselves and their experiences in the US. This is one of our favorite events as well as theirs as we get to see how many ch they’ve grown & learned during the year. So proud of them!

We are in need of several host families for our next exchange to happen for September 2025-June 2026 school year.

If we don’t find families we’re going to have to let our students know in the next couple of weeks we wont be able to accept them.
