RIT Graduate Student Advisory Council - GSAC Representing the graduate student body at Rochester Institute of Technology, New York All graduate students at RIT are welcome to join GSAC.

The Graduate Student Advisory Council is a student group that represents and supports the interests of current and future RIT graduate students by working with the Office of Graduate Education and Dean of Graduate Education. GSAC exists to enrich the experience of the graduate students, and to accomplish the following goals:

- To represent the interests of the graduate community to RIT leadership

- To provide a forum to acquire and disseminate information to all RIT graduate students.
- To assist graduate students in understanding campus resources & services.
- To provide student engagement in service, leadership, and professional development.

Want to get involved with graduate student advocacy? Interested in working with RIT leadership to affect change? Consider running for Co-Chair of the Graduate Student Advisory Council (GSAC)!

GSAC is holding elections for co-chairs for the 2021-2022 school year, with the term starting at the end of the Spring semester. Main GSAC co-chair responsibilities are shared between two graduate students and include:

🔸Leading the graduate student volunteers of GSAC
🔸Setting semesterly goals for GSAC and seeing that progress is made toward achieving those goals
🔸Communicating with the Office of Graduate Education and other offices on campus regarding the graduate student experience
🔸Representing the interests of graduate students at advocacy meetings with university leadership

If you are interested in running for the position of co-chair, please email [email protected] with a brief (less than 250 words) statement of interest that includes: a short personal introduction, why you want to be GSAC co-chair, any experience you have that will help you lead GSAC, and what you hope to accomplish as GSAC co-chair. These will be made available to GSAC members prior to the election.

Send your statement to [email protected] by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 14th to be considered for election! Elections will be held during our general meeting on Monday, April 19th.
