Many of our club members will remember Carol Graner. She will be remembered for a life deeply rooted in family, faith, and community. Raised on a farm near Eyota, she carried those values throughout her 93 years, building a loving home with her husband Edwin and their five children. She gave generously of her time to her church and local organizations, forming lasting friendships wherever she served.

A longtime member of the Rochester Garden & Flower Club, Carol shared her passion for gardening as a Master Gardener and horticulture judge. She inspired others through teaching, mentoring, and her dedication to beautifying the community. Her warmth, knowledge, and quiet generosity leave a lasting legacy in the many lives she touched.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Graner family.

Many of you have worked or visited the SMART Garden in past seasons.
The garden and the Horticultural Program were inspired and created by Vern Bushlack.
He also taught in several of our local schools as well as College .

Vern passed away at the end of December.
He was an advocate and diligent worker for horticulture in our area.
He will be greatly missed missed.

Many thanks to the RGFC Harvest Party Committee for a great member event. We remembered fun times with pictures of Karen Noltee from her many club activities. We had wonderful conversations with friends and great food from our local VFW (and pie for dessert!) with inspirational centerpieces made with flowers from some of our own talented gardeners and flower arrangers.

Today, the Rochester Garden & Flower Club said a heartfelt goodbye to a remarkable member, Karen Jo Noltee. Karen was an important and vibrant presence in our club for many years, leading and participating in countless activities. She generously shared her gardening expertise, not just with us, but with the wider community through classes at 125Live. Karen had a truly special green thumb, known for her particular love of hostas, succulents, and fairy gardens. We will deeply miss her incredible kindness, creative energy, and wealth of knowledge. Our thoughts are with her husband, Dennis, and her entire family. Thank you, Karen, for everything you shared.
