Late summer pinks are a pleasant contrast to the usual autumn colors. Ornamental cabbage color is shining in the cooler weather, Mexican heather , hydrangeas and dahlias all add to the show.

Did you know...
Daffodils need water in the fall! In order to survive our Minnesota winters, daffodil bulbs need to "wake up", grow roots, and go through chemical changes so they don't rot over the winter.

It's been DRY in much of our area, so if you haven't started already, start now. Water, water, water your bulb plantings. Keep it up as long as you can drag hoses around your yard.

The garden club celebrated summer with a pot luck supper/picnic at the History Center of Olmsted County. Each table designed their own centerpiece using half of a hollowed-out pineapple shell for a vase. Then members selected flowers and made arrangements. Very creative designs from all!

We had a great time making table arrangements at our August Hawaiian Garden Party. The food was amazing! Did you know that gardeners are also GREAT cooks?

Lots of fun at the Rochester Flower & Garden Club flower arranging workshop held at the Rochester Public Library. Young to older created some very nice floral arrangements.

Come on down! We still have lots of beautiful plants. We are open until 7 PM tonight. We are open 8 AM until noon (or we run out of plants) Thursday, May 21. Olmsted County Fairgrounds building 40.
