Tate is a beautiful gray-and-white kitten born on May 3, 2026, and he has already discovered his life’s calling: assisting with the New York Times Crossword Puzzle.

This super-sweet little guy takes his job very seriously. He studies the clues, supervises every pencil stroke, and sometimes sits right on the puzzle to make sure nobody enters an answer without his approval. His specialties include purr-sistent, meow-velous, and fur-gotten. We’re still waiting for those clues to appear in the Times. 😹✏️

Tate is also an expert in moral support, toe-bean encouragement, and distracting his crossword companions at just the right moment. And he isn’t the only one waiting for a happy ending. Several of Tate’s siblings are also looking for their forever homes!

At 15 glorious pounds, this boy was carrying around enough mats to stuff a small pillow—possibly two if we're being honest. But one lion cut later, and boom—he transformed into the stunning beauty he was always meant to be.

Here's the thing about Dutton: He did not come to this rescue to make cat friends. This man has one goal—to find a human who will worship him appropriately. He's affectionate, he craves attention like it's catnip, and he's got "I will follow you from room to room" energy written all over him.

Dutton's still working through some anxiety around loud noises and sudden movements, and other cats make him nervous.
