✨ Meet 2026 LiLaB Resident Choreographer Jacqui Young! ✨
We are thrilled to welcome Jacqui Young as a 2026 LiLaB Resident Choreographer.
Dance has been the driving force behind Jacqui's artistic vision since childhood. An internationally recognized choreographer, performer, and educator, she has created works ranging from intimate concert dance pieces to large-scale productions throughout the United States, Canada, and Italy. Her choreography has been presented at acclaimed venues including The Duke Theater, The DiCapo Opera House, and performance spaces throughout New York City. She was also selected for the prestigious SILO Residency through NOW NYC.
This summer, Jacqui will create a new collaborative work inspired by her experience working with inmates at Sing Sing Correctional Facility. Exploring themes of incarceration, resilience, accountability, healing, and renewal, the piece will examine the human stories behind the prison system while inviting dancers to contribute their own perspectives to the creative process. The piece will seek to create a powerful and authentic exploration of humanity, accountability, and the possibility of renewal.
