Mom here!
I just wanted to give a shout-out to these two hard working girls.
A couple of weeks ago, I snapped some pictures of Izzy Masias & Audrey Williams as they refilled the Noproblem.period bins at Rochester Middle School and Rochester High School. I happened to be there, so I figured I'd tag along. (Let me tell ya... they were thrilled to have me taking pictures 🤣)
The students and staff see the bins, and most are thankful that they are available. What people don't see is all of the work happening behind the scenes. It takes hours upon hours to keep everything stocked, organized and efficient.
To refill the Middle School and High School bathrooms took a little over an hour. An hour of lugging around the products, taking inventory and topping off the bins with the necessary items. But before they even thought about refilling the bins, they spent at least 2 hours, sorting, grouping, rolling, labeling and organizing the underwear, leggings, pads and tampons. This doesn't include the time they spend researching deals, shopping and fundraising.
Over the last year or so, a few things have been noticed.
1) These supplies are not being abused... they are being USED! Each time they fill the bins, it is amazing just how much product has been gone through. It's all within reason. The bins are rarely bare when they do a restock. Which tells us, people aren't hoarding the products. They are using what they need and heading back to class. No problem.
2) Not everyone fits into "one size fits all" sizing. This is why they choose to put multiple sizes of pads, tampons, underwear and leggings in each bin.
3) This really isn't crazy-expensive to run.
4) For some, this small convenience allows them to stay at school without worry or stress. No need to call Mom or Dad. No need to awkwardly bum off of friends. No need to wad up TP and hope for the best. It's just available. Again, No Problem.
Although this isn't super duper spendy to keep running, it does cost money. They plan to do some more fundraising soon because every little bit helps. And honestly, funds are getting low.
With that being said, some of you have asked how to donate. There are a few ways to donate. They have a PayPal account now. We had to set it up in my name because of age restrictions, but the money goes directly to the NP.P bank account. So if you see my name with the NoProblem.Period logo, that's why.
They really wanted to set up a Venmo, but apparently you can only have 1 personal/non-business account per person. Weird, but that's how it works. We even reached out to Venmo to see if there was another option. At this time, there isn't.
They can accept checks. The check has to be made out to them personally, not No Problem Period. Once they are registered as a non-profit, this will change.
You may also send me (or Anne) money via Venmo and we can transfer it to their account. Just reference No Problem Period in the comment. They always accept cash.
They keep a good record of deposits, and everything is accounted for.
Thank you again to everyone that has supported and encouraged them along the way. As a momma, I/we appreciate it almost as much as they do.
